Republic of Tunisia
Elevation, slope and contours for every point in Tunisia, ready per governorate: a 30 m elevation model, six slope classes, 150,649 contour lines at 20 m, and a per-delegation table of minimum and maximum elevation, mean slope and share of steep land — in UTM 32N for direct metric measurement.
In short
Highest point in القصرين الجنوبية (1,530 m); lowest in تمغزة (-23 m).
150,649 contour lines at 20 m across 24 layers.
The steepest delegations are listed in the table.
Who it is for
Civil engineering and surveying offices, engineering and geography students, and road, energy and water projects.
Method: what we add to the raw data
- Forty one-arc-second (about 30 m) elevation tiles were mosaicked, clipped to Tunisia with a 3 km margin and projected to UTM 32N.
- The model was split per governorate with a 1 km margin into separate files as integer metres, keeping files small and fast.
- Slope was computed in percent and grouped into six engineering classes, from under 2% flat to over 30% very steep.
- Contour lines every 20 m with an elevation field were extracted, one layer per governorate in a single file.
- For each delegation: minimum, maximum and mean elevation, mean slope, and the share of area steeper than 15%.

Limitations
- The model is a surface model including buildings and trees, not bare ground alone.
- Vertical accuracy is a few metres, so it does not replace topographic survey for detailed design.
- Contours are extracted automatically without manual smoothing and may look jagged on plains and chotts.
- UTM 32N covers all of Tunisia, which lies inside zone 32, so scale error is small.
